1. About these terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of tutorcontracts.co.uk and the document template subscription service provided by TutorContracts ("we", "us", "our"). By creating an account or purchasing a subscription, you agree to these Terms.

2. The service

TutorContracts provides a library of business document templates for UK private tutors, accessed through a paid annual subscription. Templates cover areas including client agreements, cancellation policies, GDPR notices, parental consent forms, and more.

We provide two subscription tiers:

• Starter — £29 per year
• Pro — £49 per year

Prices include VAT where applicable. Subscriptions are billed annually and renew automatically unless cancelled.

3. Your right to cancel (cooling-off period)

As a consumer purchasing a digital subscription, you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel under the Consumer Contracts (Information, Cancellation and Additional Charges) Regulations 2013. To cancel within this period, email [email protected] and we will issue a full refund.

After the 14-day cooling-off period has expired, subscriptions are non-refundable. However, you will retain access to all documents until the end of your current billing period.

4. Cancelling your subscription

You may cancel your auto-renewal at any time by emailing [email protected]. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. Access to documents continues until that date.

5. Intellectual property

All document templates, content, and code on tutorcontracts.co.uk are owned by TutorContracts or our licensors. Your subscription grants you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive licence to use and customise the templates for your own tutoring practice during your active subscription period.

You may not:

• Redistribute, resell, or share templates with third parties
• Use templates to create competing template products
• Remove any attribution or copyright notices from templates
• Use the TutorContracts brand name or logo without written permission

6. Your responsibilities

You are responsible for:

• Ensuring templates are appropriate for your specific tutoring situation — we recommend having contracts reviewed by a solicitor for high-value engagements
• Your own compliance with safeguarding obligations, including obtaining and maintaining your own DBS check if you work with children or vulnerable adults. Our DBS & Safeguarding Statement template is a reference document — it does not substitute for your own DBS registration or safeguarding training
• Complying with UK GDPR when handling student and parent data — TutorContracts does not process student data; you are the data controller for any student information you hold
• Keeping your account credentials secure
• Complying with all applicable laws relevant to your tutoring practice

7. Disclaimer

Templates are provided "as is" for reference purposes. TutorContracts does not warrant that templates will be legally sufficient for any particular purpose. We are not a law firm and the templates do not constitute legal advice.

TutorContracts shall not be liable for any losses arising from your use of the templates. Our total liability to you in any circumstances is limited to the amount you paid for your current subscription period.

8. Service availability

We will use reasonable endeavours to keep the service available. We do not guarantee 100% uptime and may need to take the service offline for maintenance. We will not be liable for losses arising from service downtime.

9. Account terms

One subscription covers one user. You must not share your account credentials or allow others to access your account. If we reasonably suspect account sharing, we may suspend or terminate your account without refund.

10. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account immediately if you breach these Terms, for example by redistributing templates. In such cases, no refund will be issued. Either party may otherwise end the subscription by providing notice, with access continuing until the end of the current period.

11. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify active subscribers by email of any material changes at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the service after that date constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

12. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Before initiating any formal dispute, please contact us at [email protected] — we aim to resolve all issues within 5 business days. If we cannot resolve a dispute, it shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.
